Description of the River Systems Map

The map shows the water systems in the western United States that are the direct focus of the project. Three river systems are represented by five project areas. The Snake River System includes the Snake River Plain (Mid Snake River) and Upper Snake River project areas. The Truckee-Carson River System is shown in Nevada. The Rio Grande River System includes the Upper Rio Grande and Lower Rio Grande project areas in New Mexico.

Three experimental sites are identified with yellow star-shaped markers: UNR Experimental Station–Reno in the Truckee-Carson River System, and Lordsburg and NMSU Leyendecker Farm in the Lower Rio Grande project area.

According to the map legend, yellow stars represent experimental sites, blue lines represent major rivers, black outlines represent study regions, and green outlines represent watershed sub-basins. A scale at the bottom of the map represents distances from 0 to 400 miles.
